The Best Interior Storage for Your Overland Vehicle!

If you’re like me, you want to keep the interior of your vehicle organized while on extended trips. There are many benefits to doing so, sanity being atop the list for me. While organization is focused on functionality and practicality, I also prefer to keep my truck looking stylish inside and out.

For that reason, I’m not a big fan of Amazon seat covers and storage solutions for vehicles. They tend to look tacky, feature cheap materials, and fall apart after a bit of real use. I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention where most of them are made (hint: it’s not here).

It’s fair to say that I enjoy supporting American small businesses when possible, and that’s especially true when it comes to my vehicles. Thankfully, there are a host of creative companies out there crafting American-made accessories that check a lot of the boxes I prioritize.

Why I Chose Invictus MOLLE Hybrid Panels for My Ford F-250

With my previous vehicle—a Jeep Gladiator Mojave—I got spoiled. The factory seats came with built-in MOLLE webbing, giving me some real estate to conveniently mount some essentials in an accessible yet out-of-the-way location. Items like my winch controller and first aid kit were always within reach but never in the way.

When I traded up to the 2022 Ford F-250 Tremor, I knew I wanted a similar seatback storage solution. I did a bit of research, and it turns out there are a ton of options that range from dirt-cheap, paper-thin covers with pockets to expensive, all-aluminum panels. Both ends of the spectrum have some serious pros and cons.

Enter the Invictus Off Road Hybrid MOLLE Panels. I had used Invictus products before—in fact, I call the man behind the magic, Dave, a friend of mine—but I was unfamiliar with these new panels. Based on my experience with previous Invictus products (all positive) and my desire to support an American small business (and buddy), I figured I’d give them a try.

Boy, am I glad I did!

They’re Hybrid, and I Like That

I’m not sure if I’ve ever had porridge, but I know “just right” when I see it. Much like the story of Goldilocks, I’ve found the perfect median between soft fabrics and straight-up metal seatback panels. The Invictus Hybrid Panels strike a perfect balance by using a semi-rigid structure made of thermal plastic composite and pairing it with dual-layered Cordura fabric.

The result is a panel that is strong enough to bear the weight you want it to and withstand any abuse you throw at it yet retains its flexibility and lightweight construction. Not too flimsy, not too heavy, but just right.

MOLLE is Versatile

Velcro, built-in pockets, and more (oh my!). When it comes to seatback storage for your vehicle, there are plenty of options, all with their own approach to facilitating your organization. What I’ve found is it’s better to opt for universal systems than to lock yourself into a proprietary system or limited (built-in pouches) system. That’s why I’ve adopted MOLLE as my go-to for interior storage.

Because of the unique construction of the Invictus Seatback Panels, you have two MOLLE options at your fingertips. The versatility is impressive, and the only limiting factor is your creativity.

They Look Nice (and everyone knows aesthetics are everything)

If you’re here purely for functionality, go ahead and skip this section. If you care even the slightest bit about how a product looks and how it complements your vehicle, you’ll want to check this out.

The Invictus Off Road Hybrid MOLLE Panels are aesthetically pleasing and come in a variety of colors and patterns. While the primary structure is universal—a grey and black hatched pattern that looks a bit like carbon fiber—the Cordura fabric affixed to it can be customized to your liking.

You can choose from black, Multicam, ranger green, wolf grey, coyote brown, and black Multicam. I went with the black Multicam, and it looks fantastic in the dark interior of my truck.

Made by an American Small Business

Aside from knowing Dave, one of the most compelling reasons for me to invest in these MOLLE seat covers is the fact they are made in the USA. I love to support American manufacturing and give bonus points to small businesses that are carving out a niche in their industry.

In addition to supporting local businesses and spending my hard-earned dollars domestically, the care and craftsmanship of such products tend to be superior. Invictus Off Road has proven to me many times that they produce high-quality products that they stand behind. On the off chance that something isn’t right, they will go out of their way to fix it. That means a lot!

So far, I’m extremely happy with how these Hybrid MOLLE Panels have contributed to the interior organization and appearance of my truck. Based on previous experiences with Invictus Off Road, I anticipate these panels outlasting the truck. If you like to stay organized and keep important items within reach, I strongly recommend these panels.

If you don’t have an F-250, don’t worry—these panels are universal. You can install them in anything from a Prius to a Jeep Wrangler!

Dave was gracious enough to set me up with a discount code for these and all the other products on his website. I don’t earn any commission from the code; you just save yourself a little cash! Be sure to use RITW at checkout.
